Playhouses for a playground

A playhouse covers what slides and swings can’t — role-play. It’s the one element on a playground where kids play roles rather than movement: shop, kitchen, headquarters. That noticeably increases the time children spend on the playground, especially in the younger age group.

Structurally, playhouses come open (a frame with a roof and parapet) or semi-enclosed (with walls, windows, a counter). The second type is more engaging for play but needs thoughtful sightlines — parents need to be able to see a child inside.

Gazebos for rest areas

A gazebo differs from a pergola by having a solid roof — it shelters from both sun and rain. In courtyards and squares, gazebos are placed as a gathering point: benches around the perimeter, sometimes a table in the center.

Near playgrounds, a gazebo serves a practical role — parents need somewhere to wait out heat or rain without taking a child away. Without that spot, the playground empties out around midday.

We build the frame in powder-coated metal, with trim and benches in larch or WPC. That combination lasts longer than an all-wood structure and needs no annual refinishing.

Frequently asked questions

How is a gazebo different from a pergola?
A gazebo has a solid roof — it protects from rain. A pergola is slatted: it diffuses sun but doesn’t shelter from precipitation. Choose a pergola for shade with open air, a gazebo or canopy for shelter.
What is a gazebo made of?
The load-bearing frame is powder-coated metal, the roof is profiled sheet or polycarbonate, benches and trim are larch or WPC. That combination lasts longer than an all-wood structure.
Does it need a foundation?
Posts are set in concrete footings or anchored to a prepared slab. For structures with a large roof area, load is calculated for regional snow and wind loads.
Can a gazebo be built to custom dimensions?
Yes. We manufacture in-house and build to custom dimensions, with the roof shape and trim colors matched to the project.
